Began in the first century as a chapel, the construction of the present Gothic temple was initiated in 1928. The 16th-century crucifix of the Christ of Lepanto, the crypt of Santa Eulàlia - the patron saint of Barcelona, and the neighborhood Claustro (cloister) are all appreciated by art historians.
