The K2 is a large pub located in Somera, a busy and popular street in the old part of Bilbao. It is one of the pubs frequented on pub crawls, so there is a continuous turnover of clientele. The pub is named after the mountain, and the walls are covered in photos of expeditions, mountains and books by new authors, mostly keen on mountaineering. There are also photos on other subjects, which you can look at whilst having a drink. The K2 is open from first thing in the morning, when a lot of students stop by for breakfast. At lunch-time there are all sorts of snacks and 90 different kinds of sandwiches. It's better to read the menu there, but the vegetable sandwich, bacon and cheese or the pork loin and pepper are good options. At night the K2 becomes a place where young people start their night out.
