This is the highlight of September, annually selling 40,000 tickets. Nearly all the independent cinemas participate (Bio Rex, Maxim, Andorra among others). Films shown generally follow the theme of the festival's name; thought-provoking themes are prominent. You can catch underground films, work by cult directors, and even some films destined for wider distribution in the following months. Many directors are invited to talk about their films before the screenings. Tickets sometimes sell out in a matter of hours. Venues, dates and hours vary throughout the city.
