A short flight of stairs in a refurbished Victorian leads to this tiny gem called Ploy II. The decor is airy and bright with pale walls and lace curtains, reinforcing the old-fashioned ambiance. There are a few spicy-hot items on the menu, but the majority of the items are mild with coconut or citrus as the base of the piquant flavor blend. The Haight Street locals dig into succulent gingered chicken served by a cheerful wait staff.
