An exceedingly traditional Thai restaurant, Chao Praya is the place many Munich people first encountered coconut milk, red basil and green curry. Opened ten years ago, the restaurant has managed to resist passing trends and makes no concessions to fast food or take-aways. You will have to allow some time for a meal here. Starters cost from (EUR 4.50-9), main courses are about (EUR 12). For something very exotic, try trout with ginger at (EUR 12.25). Food and ambience are in harmony, and while your tastebuds enjoy almost forgotten pleasures, your eyes will feast on dark furnishings and red-toned fittings bathed in soft light.
