Cha-Am is a recently opened sister to the renowned Berkeley restaurant of the same name on north Shattuck Street. Its setting is very SoMa: light, modern and airy; it serves the full range of Thai specialties. Ingredients are fresh. Each of the appetizers are worth trying, as is pretty much all of the seafood. The most popular dish is the striped bass (Pla Lad Prik) served with a curry sauce and Thai beans. Cha-am also contains a full bar.
