A tasteful combination of wing-backed chairs, brass railings and a rich- colored interior set the stage for one of the more elegant meals in the city. This space used to house a Conservative Party private club at the turn of the century and the opulent surroundings have been preserved in their original splendor. The service is professional and discreet and the fare is excellent. The chicken teriyaki brochette is a particular treat.
