A meeting place for the left-wing student community since the 60s, owners Heppel and Ettlich decided to put their back room to use in 1976, turning the establishment into one of the most important (and smallest) cabaret venues in Munich. Many stars from the world of cabaret and chanson have played here over the years, well before they were 'discovered'. The pub is always packed with an alternative crowd, supping beers and puffing cigarettes after lining their stomachs with Frikadellen (meat balls) and Schnitzel.
