The cosy ambience of Georg Maier's Iberl-Bühne has been Munich's best venue for down-to-earth Bavarian folk theatre since 1966. There are performances here every evening from 8pm, most of them penned by Maier himself. The reputation of these shows, such as Grattleroper, stretches way beyond Munich. Food and drink is an essential part of Bavarian hospitality, and nowhere less than in this sort of theatre. Attached to the one hundred seater theatre is a wonderful old Bavarian pub with a beer garden.
