A meeting place for the left-wing student community since the sixties, owners Heppel and Ettlich decided to put their back room to use in 1976, turning the establishment into one of the most important (and smallest) cabaret venues in Munich. Many stars from the world of cabaret and chansons have played here over the years, well before they were 'discovered'. The pub is always packed with the alternative student crowd, supping beers and puffing cigarettes after lining their stomachs with frikadellen (meat balls) or schnitzel.
