Krone Circus' permanent home is a concrete Big Top, not far from the Hauptbahnhof (main railway station). This is where the renowned circus recuperates in winter from its world tours and entertains the crowds with its awesome acts, including acrobats, clowns, lion tamers, elephants and horses. One of the largest of its kind in Europe, the circus was founded in 1904 by Carl Krone and is still run in the family by Christel Sembach-Krone. Circus Krone is also a well-known concert venue and has been host to many a big-name band including the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.
