The Physical Art Theater company was established in 1996, and has become an extraordinary performer of modern Finnish dance at an increasing number of guest performances both in Finland and abroad. Stages have included the Finnish National Opera and Kiasma Theater, right in the hearth of the city. Choreographer Sanna Kekäläinen emphasises strong body movements, improvisation and voice training. The most important idea is the combination of verbal and non-verbal communication. This is one of the theater companies located at Kaapelitehdas, the former cable factory transformed into a place of many cultural activities, where you can easily spend a day looking at art exhibitions and museums, going to theaters and enjoying refreshments or lunch at the Kaapeli café.
