Smuin Ballet's annual Christmas Ballet leaps onto the YBCA's stage with plenty of delightfully entertaining holiday cheer in tow. The ballet is split into two acts, the first one titled "Classical Christmas" and the second one "Cool Christmas." "Classical Christmas" features the performers in virginal white costumes dancing to 14 different pieces of music such as Resonet in laudibus and Jauchzet Frohlocket at the pace of three or so minutes per piece. The performances, though pretty, soon become repetitive. But, all the unevenness aside, Smuin's Christmas Ballet stands as a beloved, magical part of the holiday season.
