Performing on the grounds of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, Actors Co-op is the first Christian-based professional theatre company in the United States that operates under a contract with Actors Equity Association, the professional union for stage actors. This performing group began in 1987 when a dozen veteran actors wanted to form a company that would provide spiritual, personal and professional support. The church grounds have two theaters: the Crossley Theatre and the Crossley Terrace Theatre. Do dedication to Christ and good theater mesh well? In this case, the answer is yes. The Actors Co-op was awarded the Hollywood Arts Council's Charlie Award of Excellence in Theatre Arts and the 1996 Margaret Harford Award for Sustained Achievement from the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle. Tickets prices vary, but typically range from $18-24 for Adults and $14-20 for Students. Call the Box Office for reservations.
