The Long Beach Playhouse prides itself on its eclectic mix of programs, from classic plays to modern works. It has been producing plays for more than 70 years in Long Beach. Playhouse alumni include Robert Mitchum, DeForest Kelly and Hugh Beaumont. The playhouse has two stages and it usually has two different productions running simultaneously. It also offers adult acting workshops, summer youth workshops and an annual playwriting contest.
