Barbuda has the largest nesting colony of frigate birds in the Caribbean. The five species of frigate bird can be traced back over 50 million years, making them the oldest surviving avian species. Known for their aerial prowess, they snatch the catches of other seabirds, earning them the nickname "Man o' War." The sanctuary is situated in Codrington Lagoon and can only be visited by boat. Tickets can be purchased at the wharf, but you must arrange a tour with a local boatperson in advance.
