The offices of the Federal Chancellor until the government's move to Berlin. Until 1976 the Federal Chancellor's offices were in the Palais Schaumburg, but the Chancellor Helmut Schmidt then moved into a new building which was built by the Stieldorf architects for around 105 million Marks. The building is located between the Palais Schamburg and the Federal Press Office. Apart from the numerous offices, cabinet room and the room for bilateral conferences, there is also a bug-proof conference room. There are many works of art in the corridors of the Federal house which you can see by appointment. Among these, paintings by the expressionists August Macke, Emil Nolde and Karl Schmidt Rottluff are to be found. The famous sculpture Large Two Forms by Henry Moore is also situated here, on the lawn in front of the entrance.
