Originally a convent, this building now houses the government offices of the Public Education Department. Some one hundred and twenty murals enhance the incredible architecture, painted by the famed Diego Rivera in the 1920s. The frescoes depict the every day life of Mexicans during that time. There are also paintings of the Passion of Christ, the Aztec king Cuauhtémoc and the assassination of Zapata, as well as the Mexican coat of arms painted by Rivera and his assistants.
