Come to the junction of Tiong Bahru Road and Seng Poh Road on Sunday morning for a brilliant concert by birds of all sorts. Singing their hearts out here are merboks, sharmas, mata putihs and a host of others treasured for their choral skills. After hanging the cages up on verandas or on wires strung between trees, the Chinese owners congregate around tables, and chat over coffee. These owners are clearly very proud of their little charges, as is apparent from the special diet given to their lovely birds and the ornate cages used to house them.
