Beautifully situated in a large park is this Baroque castle of the German Knightly Order. Built in the year 1254, the castle was originally the headquarters of a commander, who was meant to manage his land from here. The German lords had their base here until the order was dissolved by Napoleon. The Baroque living quarters were renovated in the middle of the eighteenth century, and the Belgian Embassy chose them as their residence in 1953, renovating them lavishly once again.
