The Palazzo Pepoli Vecchio was really a series of buildings. Those at n. 4 and 6 were built for Taddeo Pepoli, Lord of Bologna, in 1344. The ancient Pepoli residence contained around 200 rooms, and the ring nut on the rounded arch portal of number six recalls to mind the family crest. The buildings at n. 8 and 10 are 18th Century, and were built for Count Gero Pepoli. Restoration work took place in 1925 and again in 1939. This work restored the original architecture to Palazzo Pepoli Vecchio which displayed characteristic 14th-century mullioned windows.
