This village merits a day trip to see where the famous writer, Miguel de Cervantes got married to Catalina de Palacios in 1584 and the house where they lived together for three years. Cervantes based the character of Don Quijote on the man he rented this house from, Alonso Quijada. The house itself retains an old-world charm. This is good olive oil and wine country and the village festival takes place between the 18th and 23rd of August. Other interesting buildings worth visiting are the Church of the Asunción, the Capuchin monastery, Carlos IV's fountain and the San Roque chapel. The public bus from Toledo leaves from the Avenida Castilla-La Mancha. For more information, tel. +34 925 215 854.
