This village is worth visiting for its beautiful medieval buildings, its unusual annual festival and the excellent wines from the surrounding area. The San Sebastian church is a mix of Gothic and Renaissance architectural styles from the 16th and 17th centuries. The interior houses a magnificent mudajar-style ceiling, a brilliant Renaissance altarpiece, an organ, and other Baroque altarpieces. The most spectacular part of the annual nativity festival (24-27 April) is the San Marcos pilgrimage. Villagers dress in white skirts, petticoats and red bandannas while they sing and dance to the orders of the Sargentos, who are dressed in medieval costume. The public bus from Toledo leaves from Avenida Castilla-La Mancha for the 54m journey. For more information, telephone +34 925 215 854.
