Come here for the distinctive pottery, the historic buildings and the archaeological site. This town is the centre of a thriving industry producing pottery and tiles decorated in green and yellow with animal and plant motifs. You can visit the potteries and watch the potters and painters at work. The Gothic-mudéjar church of Santa Catalina, the 17th century Franciscan monastery, the 17th century Archbishop’s Palace, the mills and the bridge are all worth visiting. A trip to the site of the Roman city of Los Vascos makes an interesting half-day excursion. The town is also close to Oropesa, just 4km away and worth visiting as well.
