The Yosemite with Green Tortoise bus service is not for everyone. The bus is not fancy, but it is safe and functional, which is fortunate because you will be sleeping on the bus. These trips almost classify as adventure tours, and if you take the one to Yosemite you will meet people you would never meet any other way. Although the itinerary is planned, the driver has the right to change it without notice due to either weather or whim. For example, leaving from San Francisco at 9pm, you will probably arrive at the Merced River in the Yosemite Valley for breakfast with a chance to make your own sandwiches for lunch. Choose your own activities until an evening trip to Tioga Pass, which includes a stop at a hot spring. The next day you will have access to a naturalist who will explain Yosemite's natural setting as you ride to Mono Lake. On the third day, you go back up the mountain to Tuolumne, and in the evening, you make the return trip to San Francisco.
