"Pedregal", meaning lava, is the substance that forms the foundations of this housing estate, one of the most luxurious of its kind in Mexico after the Santa Fe and Lomas de Virreyes estates. The exuberant and formidable houses are accompanied by equally sumptuous gardens, full of different sorts of rare plants. Here, homeowners must have the means to buy 2,000 square metres of land and to hire an architect to design their new home. The lava comes from the now dormant Xitle volcano.
