At one glance, many would think that this is just a wasteland, but a closer look reveals a wealth of wildlife - flora, fauna and exotic species like mudskippers, archer fish, wader birds, kingfishers, munias, herons and egrets. It is also witness to the rustic lives of the earlier natives, with wooden sluice gates, fresh water wells and fruit trees still remaining. Interestingly, a Buddhist temple sits in the middle of the mangroves and a smattering of unused ponds. Come here in the morning when it is cooler, and do not forget your binoculars.
