What used to be desolate marshland is today one of Singapore's best neighbourhood gardens. This 12.8 hectares of land is landscaped with some 8,000 trees and shrubs, a serene lake, freely-shaped pools, footpaths and small bridges. Pick a picnic spot next to the waters, or choose from one of the lovely Chinese pavilions or Malay stilted huts, the object of the SIA Architectural Design Award in 1986. Here, you can find a playground designed based on a Malay folklore. Children will have loads of fun sliding down a mousedeer, climbing a tiger, crawling through a crocodile and clearing other obstacles.
