Christians arrive from throughout the world to visit the Holy Land in late December. The best-known celebrations take place in nearby Bethlehem, beginning with the procession of the Latin Patriarch from Jerusalem to the Church of the Nativity in the afternoon of December 24. International choirs gather in Manger Square to sing carols, and the traditional Roman Catholic Mass in the Church of St Catherine (next to the Church of the Nativity) is broadcast worldwide at midnight. Check with the Christian Information Center at Jaffa Gate for more information about specific service times at various churches in Jerusalem, as well as special music concerts and carols.
