Placed in a city of innumerable religious sites, Italian Synagogue is one such wonder that arouses religious sentiments and awe at the same time. Under the care of the Jerusalem Italian Jews Association (JIJA), this religious sight is an architectural delight as well. Built in the town of Conegliano Veneto, this 18th-century old synagogue reflects elegance and splendor with its intricately carved ark, rich-wood bima and benches. The light shone from beautiful candle-holders and chandeliers creates a mystical aura around this place. Take time out to attend the services held by the congregation—which are mainly immigrants from Italy. A tranquil place of worship, this place is worth a visit for people who have an eye for places with intricate work.
