One of the city's most venerable skate shops and a Polk Street institution Skates.com, this place has been renting and selling to Golden Gate Park skaters since 1975. Flat, scenic park skating is just 1/2 block away. Free skating lessons are available in the Park from the staff Sunday mornings at 9am. That same staff can help you find just the right skates for you whether you're looking to breeze leisurely through the park or work up some serious speed on in-line skate.
