This is a monthly race around Lake Merritt hosted by the Lake Merritt Joggers and Striders, the East Bay Area's oldest running club. The event consists of concurrent 5K, 10K, and 15K around the lake in downtown Oakland. The price is $4 for non-members. Both beginning and serious runners and striders are welcome. The race starts promptly at 9am rain or shine. You can register beforehand at the Old Boathouse on the shore of the lake. In the spirit of sportsmanship, everyone who finishes receives a ribbon.
