Also known as National Dress Day, Heritage Day is a national favorite. For two weeks prior to the 31st of October, government buildings, schools and businesses throughout the island do their best to decorate their halls in anticipation of the official judging that occurs on Heritage Day. In addition to this fun contest, Heritage Day features a Thanksgiving service, readings, music and more. Finally, on Heritage Day, Antiguans dress up in national costume and enjoy the island's food fair and exhibition.
