Since the mid 80s, the Historic Center Festival of Mexico City has been promoting the historic center's best local and international arts scenes--from theatres and temples to patios and palaces. The most recent event attracted an audience of nearly a million, who visited the various exhibitions, and took part in guided tours, public dances, conferences and workshops. This festival takes place every year during March and all the proceeds go to such community projects as the restoration of paintings and historic buildings, and the Choir of Historic Center Singing Children. Prices vary for different events.
