This autumn festival held at Stanford University has a mission beyond presenting fine cinema. It brings films to the general public that deal with human rights and other topics related to the United Nations in order to raise awareness about those issues. In the words of festival director Jasmina Bojic, the aim is to present a festival that values documentary filmmaking as a tool for social and political understanding and which facilitates community participation in effecting international change.
