Films in this winter festival of recent Italian cinema are chosen by a jury of American and Italian film critics who have selected the best of what the European film festivals had to offer. For the film buff, it is a chance to see the rich diversity of Italian film making beyond Fellini and Visconti. The subjects range from biting social commentary and screwball comedy, to the ecstatic heights and desperate lows of amoré. Filmmakers accompany their films and there's always a great give and take with the audience during the question and answer session which follows each screening. The Cinefilo pass, good for any eight films except closing night is one of the great deals of this or any other film festival.
