Frameline is the largest and longest running LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans gender) film festival in the world. This non-profit organization was founded in 1977 and, with an annual attendance of 60,000 to 80,000, it is the most widely recognized LGBT film exhibition event. Its mission is “to strengthen the diverse LGBT community and further its visibility by supporting and promoting a broad array of cultural representations and artistic expression in film, video and other media arts. In addition to the festival, there are year-round exhibition events, Frameline Distribution, and the Frameline Film & Video Completion Fund.
