This is by far the "coolest" place to be in April. For more than 35 years, the University of Nevada at Reno has hosted one of the largest jazz competitions in the country. Vocal ensembles, big bands and jazz combos from junior high and high schools compete for coveted honors. The three-day event features all day competitions, clinics and nightly jazz concerts. A festival pass permitting access to all events, clinics and concerts is USD22 for all attendees. Individual tickets for evening concerts are available by calling the University.
