Is there another music festival that takes place perched on a cliff overlooking the spectacular Pacific Ocean? Mendocino Music Festival, now in its second decade, happens in an enormous tent, but the good cheer and heavenly sounds reverberate throughout the land and out to sea. Fun, informal lectures take place before performances where local and visiting musicians perform together. There are also master classes by distinguished visiting musicians. Past presentations have included Mozart's "Jupiter Symphony" (or, Symphony No. 41), Stravinsky's The Firebird, the Love Aria from Puccini's La Bohème and Gershwin's masterpiece Porgy & Bess.
