The organizers of this late September, tongue-in-cheek celebration of condensation have a screwball attitude that makes Pacific Coast Fog Fest one of the most popular festivals in the Bay Area. Sure, there are the familiar crafts, music, and food you would expect from a festival like this. But there are also unique events, like the fog jog and the ever-popular fog-calling contest. Oddly enough, this foggiest of Bay Area cities usually experiences a rare fog-free spell during the festivities. This phenomenon actually forced organizers to rent fog machines one year. Event is free and some vendors may accept credit cards.
