Each year this festival brings together the best fireworks designers in the world for a magnificent celestial display. The Bay of Cannes reflects these fleeting flowers of light, making it an altogether magical experience. Thousands of spectators flock to the beaches, so it's best to arrive early. Even better, if you are fortunate enough to have a boat, it's the ideal vantage point to take in the show. At the end of this festival, which began in 1967, the Vestal prize is awarded to the top pyrotechnic team. Admission is free. See website for yearly particulars.
