Each year, the first week of August is the occasion of a journey back in time in Cagnes-sur-Mer. There are tournaments, falconry demonstrations, jousting and all kinds of events in keeping with the period. All around the town you can find participants dressed up as knights and women as damsels in period costume. Tradition demands that the celebrations culminate in a grand banquet, and the ceremony is indeed a site to behold. Cagnes-Sur-mer is about 20km from Cannes, and information can be obtained from the Cagnes tourist office.
