The Marin County Fair is the annual event of food, games, rides, music and outdoor fun for the entire family held each July at the Marin County Civic Center. There is definitely something for everyone, from the petting zoo to the nightly fireworks display. The Midway has classic rides, such as a Ferris Wheel, mini-roller coaster, a haunted house and games galore. Food stands are varied, offering Mexican, Chinese, Greek, Italian, Thai and Japanese food along with carnival favorites like ice cream, hot dogs, cotton candy, burgers and funnel cakes. Every evening, there are performances in the Pavilion tent of local and big name musicians. Each day has a different theme, like International Day or Dairy Day with contests, tastings and how-to exhibits.
