After a hiatus of 10 years, Black Choreographers Festival came back in 2005 with dance productions, exhibits, films, and a discovery of new talent. The festival celebrates African and African-American dance culture and addresses the need of mentoring, training and outreach of artists. Alonzo King, Deborah Vaughan and Robert Moses are among featured choreographers for the 2006 festival. Institutions, such as Stanford University, Laney College and San Francisco State University are also on roll. Check for the venue and other information on their website.
