For followers of San Francisco's Beatnik culture, this store is a true discovery. In the back corner of the store there is a room with paintings by Beatnik author Jack Micheline. The author painted this room in 1995 as a dedication to the children of San Francisco. Today it is a symbol of the influence of the Beat Generation years. The other reason to visit is the selection of books with an emphasis on fine literature. Browsing is encouraged, as is taking some time in one of the comfortable chairs to peruse your purchases before stepping up to the cash register.
