You may have been reading lately about a local artisan cheese called Humbolt Fog. It is made by a small operation in the North Bay and finding it can be difficult, but not at this bright, rustic-looking shop. Though the shop is small, the variety of cheeses on the wooden shelves is awe-inspiring. A table of Cheddar shares space with goat cheeses from the Pyrenees. The staff, who may know as much about cheese and cheese-making as there is to know, is generous with both samples and expertise.
