Venezuela boasts (and quite rightly so) about its indigenous, European and African heritage, which can be seen in the people of the country today. In Venezuela's multi-colored folkloric traditions, it is still possible to detect the influence of these different races. Opened in November of 1972, the National Folklore Museum presents crafts, musical instruments, and other manifestations of popular, mainly Venezuelan, culture, although the exhibitions do include some objects from other South American countries. The museum services include advice to students and researchers, educational workshops, a reference room, audiovisual and artist presentations and it also produces radio and television programs. Entrance is free.
