As part of what should be included in a representative sample of diverse genres of exhibitions, the interested visitor may also go to El Instituto Venezolano de Investigaciones Científicas (IVIC), or Venezuelan Institute of Scientific Research. Here, you will find the Sala de Exhibicion J.M. Cruxent, which contains the findings obtained by the Anthropology Department of this institution. A limited, but significant sample of the prehistoric times in the country, including handicrafts, tools and something unexpected: the remains of a mastodon found in the western Venezuelan state of Falcón.
