This museum, which was opened in December of 1989 and named after the great Caracas artist Jacobo Borges, is located in the Parque del Oeste, in the popular area of Catia. The museum is creative in every sense of the word. On the one hand, it is focused on the preservation and projection of all artistic forms of the contemporary period, both traditional and experimental but on the other hand, it has developed a dynamic educational program with courses, talks and workshops on issues as diverse as drawing and painting, cinema and theater, ecology and recycling. The program is highly commendable for its service to the local community. The museum also offers guides to the exhibitions.
