The Sofía Imbert Caracas Museum of Modern Art (MACCSI) was set up to promote contemporary art and this is one of the chief principals of the foundation. Its influence stretches out to the eastern and western sides of the Caracas valley from its headquarters in the center. The eastern gallery is in the premises of the electricity company CADAFE. This is a comfortable area, but like its western counterpart, bereft of art. To fill in the gap between the two outposts there is another solution, the Maccsibus, which carries a touring exhibition by the tireless MACCSI. Admission is free.
